Los Portales is my favorite NNK Mexican, hands down the best food and value, not to mention the great service. I have eaten at the locations in Callao and Burgess, and hope to try their other locations. I recently had a great experience at the Burgess location, I ordered the chicken tapatio lunch burrito and an Espilon Teq. soda w/lime. The drink was fresh and light, and the burrito with its cheese sauce and marinated chicken and squash, really delicious, it's obvious they use quality ingredients. And the TORTILLA CHIPS, are the BEST anywhere. Warm, crisp, and salted just right. As you might guess, the red sauce they serve with them is also virtually perfect. Savory but with enough sweet heat. The service I received was(is) also stellar, always great to see the staff smiling. Try their carnitas burrito as well. Happy customer, will keep coming back, thank you!!
This was an amazing little gem of a Mexican restaurant near Reedville, Virginia. We had no expectations when we saw the establishment as you were driving by. We decided to stop on a whim and were comforted that even though it was off hours, the parking lot was already about half full. We walked into a modern well decorated Mexican restaurant that we learned has been opened for just a few months. We were quickly seated at a clean booth and the waiter quickly came over and was very friendly and cordial and took our initial orders. At the same time another person brought heaping baskets of very crisp chips and tons of salsa. In most Mexican restaurants you keep on having to ask for more salsa and I was pleasantly surprised that the large containers of salsa that are brought before us. It was quite good. I come from Arizona and there are no shortage of Mexican restaurants there. I really did not have much expectation in terms of the food quality here. There was an abundance of selections on the menu and we placed our orders. When the food came out, I was stunned by how large the portions were, especially considering how reasonable the prices were. It's been my experience in the past that large portions do not necessarily equal tasty meals. In this case I was pleasantly surprised because of food was excellent. It burst with flavor without being overwhelming and everything tasted fresh. Normally I can finish even a large portion in one setting but I could only eat half of my burrito and save the rest for later. Even after microwaving lead portion it remain delicious. Los portales has shown that good tasty food does exist even in out of the way Reedville. The next time I'm in town I will certainly visit again. I highly recommend this place with its excellent food and wonderful service.
Been coming here since it has opened. Always an excellent experience with great accuracy on orders. Tonight in particular was the best experience yet. Kept it simple and did the 3 part build your own combo...... had to stop eating after I finished my taco and chips. The taco was so full and tasty. Juicy and seasoned excellently. Possibly the best standard soft taco I've ever had. It filled me up and I still have an enchilada and quesadilla for tomorrow. Only 13. Another 10/10 experience for maybe the 100th time now. Highly recommend Burrito Norteno, Burrito Texano, Fried Chimichangas, Enchilada Supremas.
We are visiting from Maryland and this is such a great spot. We came in 30 minutes before close due to travel and the team was so polite and professional. Their house salsa is great and the food was fresh! I have the Pollo Jalisco and my husband the crazy burrito. The fluffiest rice I have ever had! Their cheesecake chimichangas are so great tasting! Our bill was about 55, I was expecting more due to the portion sizes we received. Thank you so much for a great late night dinner!

You cannot compete with Los Portales around here. The Los Pos in Callao and now here in Burgess are unbeatable. Their food and drinks are outstanding, their service is fast and friendly, and the prices can't be beat. If you're looking for local, family owned, and delicious, look no further! The new restaurant is absolutely beautiful and clean inside and it was worth the wait! We are so happy it has finally opened.
